Hi! My name is Catherine Parisio. I worked fulltime as a freelance editor for three years before returning to the classroom in 2023. I am currently teaching at a small school in Calama, Chile, but continue to take on a variety of editing projects as time allows. I have 17 years of experience teaching in classrooms spanning 6 countries and 4 continents. Although I taught all subjects to young students, I discovered a true passion for teaching writing, devoting countless hours to professional development focused on the foundational aspects of quality writing. I have a BA in Psychology from UC San Diego and a Masters in Curriculum & Instruction from Portland State University.

In addition to my work as a teacher and editor, I enjoy spending time hiking, traveling, writing, reading, cooking, and working towards my goal of becoming fluent in Spanish.

Writing has been a pivotal part of my life since the day I wrote my first journal entry at the age of eight. Since that time, I have been producing, analyzing, and evaluating writing, both professionally and personally. This experience, coupled with my background as an educator, enables me to not only provide you with various levels of editing services, but to go one step beyond, highlighting your strengths as a writer and making simple suggestions that you can use to enhance your writing in the future.
